Visit to the base

I'm not going to post pictures here of the base due to security reasons, but it was really neat to see the inside of the Atsugi Naval Air Base with Todd.  We went to see a retirement of one of the cheifs, who after 22 years, retired in his early 40s.  Gotta love that, huh?!?  It was really neat.  They performed a ceremony that symbolized him walking off the ship with his wife out of the Navy and into civilian life.  Really cool.  I was so impressed with everyone at the party.  They were all very professional and many of them were in their early 20s but had put in 5 years in the Navy already.  I don't know how they came into the military, but they were all very pleasant folks to talk to and very dedicated to representing America well in Japan.  That was really nice to learn and see.  It made me proud of the people in our military.  After the party, we drove around the base, used the internet and then took off to get some Ramen at a noodle house at the Vinawalk.
