Trains, trains, trains!

Just a general post about the train system.  The trains are incredibly efficient.  People aren't kidding that you can set your watch by when the trains arrive.  On my watch, they've arrived within 10 seconds of the exact time that they are scheduled to arrive.  Incredible.  The network is also incredibly complex.  I've already taken three different lines on the same day.  It's like transferring from a VTA train (though the trains here do not operate on the street level) to CalTrain to BART.  They are each run by different train companies.  Odakyu, Japan Railways (JR), and the Tokyo subway system are run by different companies and only connect at major stations, which are HUGE, like at Shinjuku or Tokyo.  No kidding, these stations felt bigger than airports.  My transfer at the Tokyo station took longer than going from separate United Terminals at Chicago O'Hare.  NUTS!  Here are some pics from the Odakyu line.
